Question: What does m8rt8r mean ?
Answer: Phonetically, it's "matertater".

M8R = Mater, as in Tomato , T8R = Tater, as in Potato
Question: Why use m8rt8r ?
Answer: We wanted to name our site something unusual...did we succeed?

Why? To generate discussions! Curious people will ask the question...
"what does that mean?", which will open the door to talking about nutrition.
Just like you and I are doing right now.

Our crack marketing team (me) was trying to come up with a humours 
phrase that would be easy to remember, in a sleep deprived state I came up
with m8rt8r .com!!! :)   Was I successful? Time will tell.

Question: Why use a Tomato and Potato?
Answer: To illustrate and highlight choices that are made everyday about the foods we eat.
Obviously broccoli is more nutritious than French Fries but other choices are not so easily determined.

Enter Tomato and Potato. Both have nutrients but the tomato is a better choice for several reasons.
1) the Tomato has more nutrients including many beneficial anti-oxidants.
2) the Tomato has a much lower carbohydrate load, excess carbohydrates (carbs) are stored as fat in our bodies.



WHAT SHOULD I EAT? WHICH DIET IS BEST!?!

Here at 
m8rt8r.com we believe (and studies prove this), that the best "diet" or meal plan to follow for healthy living but also for weight loss is a "Low Carb" or "Carb Restricted Diet". I personally  recommend the Primal Blueprint as a diet, exercise and living guidebook. We should eat meats, vegetables, nuts and fruits.

We should not eat processed foods NOR high carb/high starch foods, this includes some vegetables.
